tradition. we southern girls want to look classy. i read a quote the other day that sums up football in the south.
"In the East, college football is a cultural exercise. On the West Coast, it is a tourist attraction. In the Midwest, it is cannibalism. But in the South, college football is a religion, and every Saturday is a holy day." 鈥?Marino Casem, Alcorn State University
That basically says it all. Some people dress up for church. Southern girls dress up for football.
Mary B. - WAR EAGLE!

annarbor - yes we shave. ty for noticing.

Girls from the South have class and beauty and the northern folks just can't stand it.

Why do southern girls dress up for college football games?Because yankee chicks are ugly. It is nothing personal, just an observation.

Why do southern girls dress up for college football games?Usually the girls dressed up are in sororities, and you will notice many of the guys in fraternities wearing ties to the games.

Because in the South, dear, football is very important, and us Southern girls want to look our best at these events. Of course we're going to look better than the girls in the North -- bless your heart.
Honestly, when I went to college (Auburn), it was a tradition to dress up for the games, but only if you had a date. It was really fun.
why ask why? just enjoy the worlds prettiest gals!
Sounds like tradition to me.
Because civility still counts down South.
And they're freaking hot.
Oh, and because, unlike Ann Arbor girls, they shave their legs and underarms.
I guess football passes for high-brow culture in the South.
Because this is the only time they are allowed to leave the house.
